We are proud to share with you the news that our founder and CEO Professor Asif Ahmed PhD FRSB received the “Health Innovation & Excellence Award” from the UK charity Maternal Aid Association (Maa Global). Last night the Grand Gala organised by Maa Global was stunning and the speakers were inspirational. It was also amazing and heartwarming to see so much achieved by the young people of our country and our universities. Their energy, dedication and commitment to see change happen made our founder feel humble and confident that the future is bright. We are honoured that Maa Global chose to include our founder in their awards.
Asif discovered two protective molecular pathways to prevent preeclampsia- a life-threatening hypertensive disorder of pregnancy. It kills half a million babies each year and is a major public health burden affecting nearly 10% of all pregnancy. Every minute a mother or an infant dies due to preeclampsia. MirZyme is on a mission to make this a thing of the past.
